Margaret Kephart Obituary

Margaret Ann "Margo" Kephart, 88 of Frederick, MD passed away on January 14, 2024, after a difficult battle with dementia. She was born April 1, 1935, to late Ida Howard Norwood and Herbert Norwood. She was the loving wife of the late Vernon Reginald Kephart, Jr. for 70 years. She is survived by her son Kreg S. Kephart his wife Jill, daughter Karen Kephart and her three grandchildren, John Fonda III, Kelsea Kephart, husband, Austin Scates and Dalton Kephart, plus many nieces and nephews for which she was a second mother. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon R. Kephart, her son in law John Fonda II as well as her 11 siblings and parents. Margaret spent her life caring for others. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt to her family, but also filled that role for many others. Aside from caring for others, she was a passionate shopper. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and shopping for just about anyone she could. She was also a huge football fan and loved her Gaithersburg Trojans. Up until her son, Kreg's retirement she attended almost every game that he coached, cheering from the stands with her husband by her side. She was loved deeply and helped so many along the way. She had an impact on so many lives, those who knew her loved her and she will be missed by many. Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date and will be a private ceremony. Donations can be made in the Kephart name to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences at www.barberfhlaytonsville.com
