Fidencio "Fid" Rosas

Fidencio "Fid" Rosas, 67, of Grand Island, passed away on June 15, 2024, at his residence. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 24th at 10 am, at All Faiths Funeral Home, with Dan Naranjo officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
Fid was born on November 16, 1956 in Mexico City, to Francisco and Benita (Torres) Rosas. Fid was the oldest of 10 children. He was raised and received his education in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High in 1975.
After graduation, Fid enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served until his honorable retirement on January 1, 2007. Fid then went to work at Progressive Insurance Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking and was always looking for new recipes. His dream was to own his own restaurant.
Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Augie (Debbie) Rosas of Hastings, Raymond Rosas of Aurora, Dolores (Doug) Harders of Grand Island, Susana Steele of Grand Island, Rick (Katie) Rosas of Rushville, NE, Rosie (Mike) Fletcher of Grand Island, Simon (Sheila) Rosas of Grand Island, and Andrea Rosas of Grand Island; Aunt Cathy Aldana of Grand Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fid was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frederico "Fred" Rosas; and grandmother, Petra "Pat" Sanchez.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Sorry to hear about Fid's passing. Served with him in the Navy in 1985 in VAQ,-130 on board KITTY HAWK and NAS Whidbey Island. My condolences.

I will always remember how hard Fid worked. He was a cook at Mr. Steak and head cook at Bonanza Steak House. We graduated in class of 75 from GISH School. We shared a lot of laughs together. R.I.P. Fid. Till we meet again.
