Tommy Ray Oakley, 51, of Rougemont, died on Friday, March 13, 2026 at his home. Born in Durham County, he was the son of Talmadge Ray Oakley, who survives and is preceded in death by his mother, Ruenell Mangum Oakley. Mr. Oakley was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Tommy worked for The City of Roxboro, while he was able.

Tommy enjoyed rabbit and deer hunting, fishing and going to White Lake. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his father he is survived by his wife, Christie Fogleman Oakley of the home; two children: Savannah Rae Oakley and Kamden Gilbert Oakley both of the home; one sister, Tammy Oakley Miller (Robert) of Rougemont; furbabies: Milo, Rocky, and a number of hunting dogs.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM).

Pallbearers will be Josh Slaughter, T.C. Whitfield, Raymond Whitt, Derek Luxton, Stephanie Stigall, Skippy Rickman, Greg Adcock and Cristofer Morales. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Jo Vaughan, Dale Lunsford, Bobby Oakley, Fred Oakley, Scott Riley and his hunting friends.
