Gerald Schoenle Obituary
Jerry was married to his wife, Janie (Mayers), for more than 65 years. He spent much of his life in Fort Wayne before retiring to Wolcottville, where he treasured time at Witmer Lake. For over 25 years, Jerry and Janie also enjoyed winter months in Tucson, Arizona.
A U.S. Army Reserve veteran, Jerry worked for 30 years with Hardware Wholesalers Inc. ("Do It Best"). His Catholic faith guided his life through parish service, music ministry, and acts of quiet generosity.
Jerry is survived by his wife; five children; 21 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. Visitation will be held Sunday March 1, 4-6 pm at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Rd 9 North, Wolcottville, Indiana and also one hour before the funeral Mass. A Funeral Mass will take place March 2, at 11:00am at Our Lady, Patroness of America Center, 2730 E. Northport Road, Rome City, Indiana, with burial at St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery. www.youngfamilyfuneralhome.com

Jerry was a wonderful man that we met many years ago. Janie and him were great neighbors to my parents in Tucson. His Tucson park, community and church will miss him dearly. .

Had the blessing of knowing and working with Jerry for many years both through Do-It Best, Marriage Encounter and St. Andrew's Parish. He was an outstanding Christian role model. Now he is experiencing his Heavenly Encounter.
