Bonnie Jean Dunning Dodd Larsen

1922 - 2023

- Bonnie Jean Dunning Larsen died on October 27, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on September 15, 1922, in Evanston, Wyoming, to David L. Dunning and his wife Emma E. Edwards. Bonnie lived in Evanston until she went to college in Logan where she received a degree in nursing. Then she moved to Coalville, Utah, where she worked as a nurse in the Coalville hospital during WWII. In 1945, she married Glenn Allen Dodd. They later divorced. Bonnie then moved to Lancaster, California, where she met Willard (Bill) B. Larsen. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were both faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She continued to work as a nurse until the 1950s when she decided to stay home to care for their children, which she very much loved to do. Bonnie again worked as a Registered Nurse during the 1970s and 1980s. When Bill's health declined, they moved in 2004 from Lancaster to Salt Lake City to live with their daughter. Not long after this, Bill passed away.

Bonnie's positive attitude, humor and her close relationship to her Heavenly Father helped her during this time. She instilled those values in her children and made them feel very much cherished. Bonnie loved children, especially her own and her grandchildren. She served in many positions in Relief Society and Primary. Bonnie enjoyed cooking, doing genealogy, scrapbooking, reading, music, traveling and socializing. She also liked to camp, fish and trips to the beach. She loved to attend her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, parades, and concerts.

She is survived by her children L. Ray Larsen (PiLin), Dee Ann Larsen, Willard D. Larsen (Kathy) and grandchildren Chris and Lisa. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Bob and Glen Dunning, and her husband Bill.

Burial will be in the Evanston City Cemetery, Evanston, Wyoming. Rather than sending flowers, please make donations to Primary Children's Hospital.
