Sharon Lynn Tinsley, 86 of Heritage Pointe, Warren, Indiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:47 am, Friday, March 27, 2026, in Parkview Hospital, Huntington, Indiana.
She was born on February 14, 1940, in Marion, Indiana, to Russell Clay and Mary Eugene (Haines) Huff, who preceded her in death. She lived in Landess, Van Buren and Marion most of her life, before moving to Fremont in 2005.
On May 29, 1959, in Hanfield, Indiana, Sharon married James M. Tinsley, who survives. She was a graduate of Van Buren High School, Class of 1958. She also attended Indiana Business College. Sharon worked for United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren as a Certified Nurse's Aide and Qualified Medication Aide for 31 years, retiring in 2005.
Sharon attended several churches throughout her life, which includes Van Buren Nazarene Church, Brookhaven Wesleyan, Marion and most recently United Methodist Church, Fremont. She was a former member of Gamma Tau Club, Van Buren, Women's Christian Temperance Union, Marion and The Shepherds Bible Group, Fremont. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, reading and collecting dolls. She was beloved by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her nephews and nieces. She was a soft-spoken, gentle and loving person to everyone she met.
Sharon is survived by her husband, James M. Tinsley, Warren; five children, James Todd (Dawn) Tinsley, Matthews; Lisa A. (Arden) Selden, Oskaloosa, Iowa; Jeffrey S. (Bonnie) Tinsley, Marion; David M. Tinsley, Plymouth and Mary L. (Kurt) Disher, Angola. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Kati (Matthew) Whitt; Lindsay (Andy) Watts; Joseph (Laurel) Tinsley, Daniel M. (Megan) Tinsley; Ashley (Sam) Ballou; Elisa (Michael) Werner; Derick Disher; Matt (Brenna) Selden; Jayme Nuno; David Asher Tinsley; Drew Disher and Dayne Disher; 20 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Ann McCleery.
Visitation hours will be on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Heritage Pointe Chapel, 801 North Huntington Avenue, Warren, Indiana 46792. Funeral services are at 1:00 pm Tuesday at Heritage Pointe Chapel with Reverend Matt Selden and Pastor Lindsay Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Van Buren Cemetery, Van Buren. Due to the sensitivity of family members, please do not wear perfume or cologne. Arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Funeral Home, Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South bend, Indiana 46614.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sharon's memory to Grant County Rescue Mission, 423 S. Gallatin Street #1937, Marion, Indiana 46953 or to Doctors Without Borders, 40 Rector St., 16th Floor, New York, New York 10006.

So sorry to hear of Sharon's passing. Her husband, James was in my 1951 graduating class. We saw each other often at our annual Class Reunion. Sharon was a quiet, very sweet, person. My sympathy & prayers for all the family.
