Mr Ian John Gordon, of Grassmoor, has passed away at home, aged 82.
Born in Sheffield, he spent his early years in Edale and moved to the Chesterfield area in the mid eighties. Ian served with the Royal Signals from 1958-1970 on active service and as a reservist in Germany, Cyprus and Norway. Latterly he worked for Royal Mail, as a postman until his retirement in the late 1990's.
Ian was a sociable person who enjoyed the company of family and friends. He loved history, literature and was an avid reader of non fiction. He loved animals and enjoyed touring in his caravan.
Ian leaves his wife Susan, daughters Sarah and Hannah, son Christopher, grandchildren Jody, Kelsi, Lucy, Isabelle, Elliot, James and John, also Ruby the dog.
The funeral service takes place on April 14, 2023, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 2.50pm. Afterwards at the Grassmoor Golf Club.
No flowers, donations to Ashgate Hospicecare.
