A special thank you to Kerry from the family. In lieu of flowers, donations for Arohanui Hospice would be appreciated and can be left at the service. According to Warren's wishes a private cremation has been held. A service to celebrate Warren's life will be held at Kapiti Coast Funeral Home Chapel, 9 Hinemoa St, Paraparaumu, on Wednesday, 24 February at 1.30pm.
"God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be;
So he wrapped His arms around you, and said come unto me.

You didn't deserve what you went through, and so He gave you rest,

God's garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best.

So when He saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain,

I could not wish you to come back, and suffer that all again."

Hi. My name is Carl. I was in the same class as Warren at Dannevirke South School. I knew it was the right Warren when I saw the name Gillespie which was the surname of his grandparents in whose house he lived with his mother. He and I did a lot together at primary school but lost touch after that. I always envied the fact that he had all the latest comics, Superman, Captain Marvel etc etc. Funny thing is one day in February I was thinking about him and wondering where he was and the next day I read his obituary in the DomPost. Obviously I don't know his family but I feel for them in their loss. God bless

Hi Heather, really sorry to read about Warren passing. We enjoyed his company and his wine when we met together a couple of times. Sorry that he was so ill but he will now be at peace. Thinking of you and the family. Love from Marj and Tony.

To Heather and Family.

Warren was a long time work colleague. l had the pleasure to work with him (some 30 years)
He was the leader in traffic education reform in New Zealand. His initiatives included Defensive Driving, The development of a training programme for preschool parents called small steps, and the development of Computerised driving testing.
He will be sadly missed by all his family and the many work colleagues and friends whose lives have been enriched by knowing him he was such a positive person.

To Heather and family. It is with sadness to learn of Warren's passing. Whenever we met, he would always say hello, have a friendly chat and share a laugh or two.
R.I.P. Warren, you deserve your rest.
