Dear Harlen family,I would just like to say I have remembered all of you for everything you done for me and every other kid you had through your home in the 80s.with love kindness and respect, thank you and he was a great roll model, from Helena

Mr "Bill" Harlen.You were a TOP MAN to know.He frequented the TAB at times always a smile on his face and wondering if everyone was doing ok.
The subject reversed what about you "Bill" how are you. We had some good chats all about what race meetings were on for the week and while this was on going Evelyn was in the car. He didn't do to bad with his betting and then came out with lollies each time he paid us a visit. A very generous man.
Evelyn, Bill is now at rest and now you look after yourself

Incredibly sad to see this. Just a few weeks ago we were reminiscing about the Harlen family who were our next door neighbours in Severn St, Island Bay. Thoughts and prayers from the Cheer family - Karen, Martin, and Lynley

So sad to hear of Bill´s passing. He was a lovely kind man and had the best blue twinkling eyes ever. He also made the finest curried sausages. I´m so sorry Evelyn and family. He won´t ever be forgotten.

Bill made our Foxton Beach times so bloody memorable. Late night/ early morning rugby and league, next door at Barber st. With hilarious stories to boot
