Valerie MADSEN Obituary

Passed away on Sunday 14th January 2024, aged 78 years at Brightwater Home. Dearly loved sister of Bill and partner Margaret, Patricia, Christine and Maxine (Deceased). Having suffered a stroke 29 years ago our happy and fun-loving Val is now at peace. A private service for Val has been held at Brightwater Chapel. The family would like to extend their outmost gratitude and appreciation for the dedicated care and love shown to Val over the years by Management and Staff at Brightwater. You made Brightwater her home. Thank you so much.

My sincere condolences to Bill, Margaret and family. Val was truly amazing. She was upbeat and didn´t let bad circumstances bring her down. She always looked for the silver lining. She was also so funny and had a great sense of humour and style! I remember helping her pick out outfits and matching jewellery at nights when I worked at Brightwater for her to wear the next morning. She liked to look pretty! She loved telling of her travels in the past which included climbing Uluu in Australia amongst many other loved places, especially Castlepoint which the memory of was special to Val. I will never forget her, she definitely added a sparkle to my days at Brightwater. I wish you Godspeed Val, thank you for all you have done for me. Love Becky
