Thomas BERTHOLD Obituary

On 30 August 2025, aged 85 years, Tom died peacefully after being unwell for some time, surrounded by his family. Tom - husband of Fiona, dad of Amy, stepdad of Morag, Duncan & Andrew, grandad of Keira & Piper, step-grandad of Kalina, Skye & Eric, father-in-law of Ricky, Sasha and Jenny - was dearly loved by all and is sorely missed. He was privately cremated on 1 September. Thanks for their care and support to Mary Potter Hospice, Wellington Hospital and Coastal Villas Care Facility. It is said "There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots, but no old, bold pilots", but to all of his family, many friends, and colleagues, he was both. A Memorial will be held on Saturday 25 October at 2.30pm at Kapiti Boating Club, 2 Marine Parade, Paraparaumu. All of Tom's friends and former colleagues are welcome.
