Stephen PAYNE Obituary

Took his final, unexpected adventure on March 30, 2025, in Westport. Born 23 July 1961, Steve was a bushman at heart, lover of the ocean, and a world-class stubborn Payne (in the best way). Proud dad to Callum and Ashton, Grandfather of Cyris. Son of Lance Payne and Evelyn Cowie (both dec), and brother of Wendy. Remembered by Natalie, his former wife and mother of his boys, and Pip, his partner in recent years. A tough-as-boots uncle, loved nephew, competitive cousin, and a mate who could spin a yarn and swing a hammer. Steve lived life off the beaten track and usually out of phone range. He will be missed, but never tamed. Messages can be sent to [email protected]. A private farewell to be held.
