To the immediate Grubb family and the wider nework of loved ones affected by this sudden tragic passing I am saddened to hear from a good friend that your dearly beloved has passed from this beautiful world, words can't describe how choked up I am sending this message on my best friends behalf I cant barely imagine the shoes you are all in right now and can only hope and pray that you are seeking comfort and covering and spiritual healing in these trying times. Deepest condolences to the family....you were a bloody legend Grubby, fond memories of playing rugby with you at Freyberg Old Boys, fun times, so sad you had to leave us mate, RIP, a too good of a guy gone to soon!

Grubby, I sat next to you in our first day of high school at Palmy Boys'. I can see you there in my mind in front of the window on the top floor of E block, as clear as if it was yesterday. Larger than life even then, I think you made me laugh almost straightaway - I am pretty sure taking the piss out of the teacher. We became friends that day 40 years ago and stayed that way, even though our paths meandered off in different directions after I left Palmy after Uni. When we have re-connected over those many years every time we were in fits of laughter over so many shared experiences together. I can't believe you're gone mate - I will miss you.

RIP Rodney - Chase is going to miss you calling him big boy every time he goes to JD. Sending our thoughts to your family at this time and of course the JD crew xx
