Robin PINK Obituary

Sorry to have missed the funeral but were away - although haven't had one recently, I always enjoyed Bob's conversations about motorbikes, hockey and running and his was always a cheery wave. The Bob and Marion hockey duo - an institution for years. Bob certainly left a legacy.

Dear Marion, Dave's and my thoughts are with you at this time. Bob will always have a special place in my memories as a man of integrity and constant good humour. As an umpire he had my utmost respect. When we ran into him at Taupo a few years ago, still running, we were delighted to catch up on you all. Love from Lynda and Dave Syms

Dear Marion - so sad to here your news. May your many special memories be a comfort to you. We heard of Bob's passing as we started the 7km walk organised by the Manawatu Striders. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sadly we lose another of our true gentlemen. Bob has been a real inspiration. I've known Bob for over 40 years, from the days of dreaming about owning a Honda 100 at Pink & Collison to sharing a chat while trying to keep up with him at the Super Sevens. You will be sadly missed.

To Marion, Dale, Robyn and family, so sorry to hear of Bobs passing, he will be missed a lot, but remembered with love. "My second dad." Unfortunately won't make it to the funeral, but I will be thinking of you all.

Learned this morning of Bob's death from Alan Collison and remember working with them in the workshop at Pink & Collison in the late 60s. Good memories. Deepest sympathy.

A great shock. We exchanged greetings only last week when we passed each other while walking in College Street. We first met in 1971 when I bought a Triumph Tiger off you at Pink and Collinson and our paths continued to cross over the years since.

Take your running shoes off Bob, you've been a great inspiration over the years, now it's time for you to rest in peace.
