Donald E. Michales

Donald E. Michales, 94, of Swanton, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was born on March 13, 1930 in Whitehouse, Ohio. He married Lee (Kelley) on June 4, 1955.

Donald served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, from 1950-1954. He then worked for the Toledo Blade as their news editor from 1960 until 1992. He enjoyed flying planes and spent much of his adult life as a private pilot. Donald was also an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers.

Along with his wife, Lee, Donald is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Steve) Murray; and son, Bill (Sherry) Michales. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Blake McKahan, Ian McKahan, and Caitlin Pollock and 5 great-grandchildren Amelia, Damien, Harper, Elias, and Hudson.

Memorial contributions may be given in Donald's honor to the Fulton County Humane Society.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, Whitehouse, Ohio.
