Richard McALLISTER Obituary
– 21 April 2025
Passed away peacefully at home, on Monday, 21 April 2025, with his family. Much loved husband of June for 63 years. Cherished Dad and father-in-law of Fiona, Bronwyn & Tim, Vaughn, and Anna & Jason. Adored Pop of Alex & Maka, Georgia & Aidan, Emma & James, Kate & Danny, Mac & Will, and special Great-Poppa of Harvey Dara. Much loved son, brother and uncle. A celebration of Richard's life will be held at William Cotton & Sons Chapel, 29 Beattie Street, Feilding, on Tuesday, 29 April 2025, at 1.00pm, followed by private burial. Thank you to the amazing team at Arohanui Hospice and Feilding East District Nurses and Dr Ken Young for their amazing support for Richard and his family. We are very grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations to Arohanui Hospice via www.arohanuihospice.org.nz would be appreciated or may be left at the service. Messages to the McAllister Family, c/o 29 Beattie Street, Feilding 4702. For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed at www.williamcotton.co.nz/tributes.

So sad to hear of Dick's passing. He has been a great friend of our family and a colleague of my father at the Manawatu County Council when it was based in Sanson. Many great memories of Dick from Sanson days and our family gatherings and functions which June and Dick attended. Condolences to June and family.

I would like to acknowledge the work that Richard (Dick) McAllister put into the RSA committee when he was involved with Sanson/Ohakea RSA. He was very committed to helping bringing the best outcome for local veterans when the club was closing down. He was held with great respect amongst all who served with him and although many have gone now, we all remember him with fond memories. Paul & Lyn Hendra

So sorry to read of Dick's passing. Have many smiling memories of the whole family in Levin. Special thoughts of Dick's many years of contribution to the Waitarere Surf club, the arrival of Fiona. the shift to Tawa street and babysitting as the children numbers grew.
