It is with deep sadness Rewi's whanau announce his passing on his 13th Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge. Loved husband of Dianne, dedicated father of Moana and Darcey, Apiata and Pashyn, Rehutai and Jah. "Rez" to his mokopuna, Hine-ki-rangi, Kahurewa-i-te-rangi and Tamahae. Beloved son of Putiputi and the late Apiata. Cherished brother of Meri, Tama, Apiata, Turoa, Reihana and Corina. Much loved nephew, cousin, uncle and friend to many. He participated fully in all that he did, which included many committees and community groups, where his contributions were significant. Rewi will be lying at Pahiatua Marae from Monday evening, where friends and whanau are welcome to pay their respects. Service to take place at 11.00am on Thursday 29 November, followed by burial at Pahiatua Cemetery.

Our deepest sympathies to you cousin Dianne and family. We were shocked to hear of Rewi's passing. unfortunately we only got the news on Thursday and could not be with you to celebrate his life. He was one of the good guys. A legendry super liquer cricketer who like the rest of us was equally untalented with bat and ball. Like mates before him he has tucked his bat under his arm and left the pitch. Cheers to you Rez and rest in peace.

Rewi, someone who gave me the privaledge of knowing and working with him in his role on the Central Region Apprentice Trust.
Nothing was ever too much as he gave his knowledge and time to help and guide those young people into a trade that would secure their future.
Prior to that his role at Telecom where he worked regardless of the hour to take our company through Y2K .
Rewi was a kind and giving human who will be sadly missed especially that warm wry smile that was his trademark welcome.
