Raymond came into the lives of the Newman family when he began courting our sister, Margaret 70 years ago. A quietly spoken young man soon became a permanent part of our lives.
Gentle in nature, a man of few words but when he spoke, you knew his honest thoughts.
His love for our sister was an example of how a husband cares for his wife and children. His kindness was show to many and the love of God flowed from him touching their hearts.
Olivia and Mary are the last of that Newman generation and speak on behalf of us all. We dearly loved Raymond, our brother.

Thinking of the Morrison family in the loss of Ray. I knew him when I was working at Tricklebanks Decorating Centre. He was a regular friendly, client. Also Margaret, who I met at line dancing classes some years ago and struck up a friendship with. Sending my sympathy to all their loved ones. I great couple. Gail Torr. Feilding.

Condolences to Ray´s extensive family. I was looking through old family photos of the Comeskey´s here in Upper Hutt only this week and see pictures of my dads long living cousins...then I saw this today. I knew Ray´s mum (Aunty Zet) we called her when I was a child. God bless and comfort you all. I tell all my cousins.
