My deepest condolences to you Colin and to your family.

I have wonderful memories from when Raelene and I taught together with up to 64 new entrant children in the early 80s. I loved also catching up with her at the motels in Napier. Raelene would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it and had a great sense of humour. She lived life to the full and will not be forgotten. Stephanie Greaney

We are sending our deepest sympathies to Raelene´s family at this sad time. Raelene was our daughter´s new entrant teacher at Winchester School 30 years ago now and she was an excellent teacher, absolutely adored by her students. We also remember the word mountain and her love of literacy. Rest in peace. The Allen Family - Ohope beach

Raelene gave our two children the very best start to their school years 28 & 30 years ago. Her infamous teddies used for roll call, word mountain and various word games around the room made learning so much fun. We loved someone who was bucking the latest trend and still believed in good old fashioned phonics. Her prize bag was full of wondrous booty and her pupils quirky ways & sayings were "precious" but really it was Raelene who was so precious. I remember her telling me when she turned 50 that she may have been old on the outside but still felt just 21 on the inside! So sad to read of Raelene´s death and our deepest sympathy to you all xx

I was deeply saddened to hear of Raelene's passing. Raelene was a beautiful, kind hearted lady, and I feel lucky to have had the opportunity of knowing her. I'll always remember the way she made everyone laugh and feel welcome.
