My best wishes to Priscilla´s family. She was my wonderful midwife back in 1997 - making a complicated birth into a memory to cherish and resulting in my wonderful son. She was so warm and kind she shared her strength with you. I have thought of her often over the years. A sad loss.

On behalf of the New Zealand College of Midwives I would like to extend sincere condolences to Priscilla´s whanau, and those whom she was close to, and of course her to midwives colleagues and dear friends, who will no doubt be deeply grieving for Priscilla at this time. Such is Priscilla´s stature and standing in our profession, that the news of her passing travelled quickly on the midwifery grapevine. Through her work as a midwife she no doubt will have been cherished by the many whanau whom she cared for. As well a midwife whose work touched many whanau, Priscilla was also a teacher, mentor, role model and an inspiration to many midwives throughout her fulsome career. She was one of the pioneers of our profession who was key in the forming our herstory - a woman with true dedication and unwavering focus, a fierce advocate for women and families. Priscilla´s words of wisdom always reminded us that it is their voices, the voices of the women and whanau, to whom we should always be listening.
As I am writing this, we are holding our 16th conference in Otautahi Christchurch with over 550 midwives gathered together. We are live steaming the event at the conference so that Priscilla´s colleagues who are unable to be present in person at her funeral are able to participate in the tribute to this incredible women who will forever hold a place in our midwifery hearts.
Nga mihi

Our deepest sympathy to Priscilla's family and friends. We both knew Priscilla primarily through her work in tertiary education at Manawatu Polytechnic and admired her enduring dedication to midwifery both within New Zealand and far away in Niger. She has now been called to her home far away but lives on in our memories.

So sorry to hear the sad news today, Thurs 11th, of Priscilla's passing.
Such a special lady and Domiciliary Midwife. I treasure the memories of the early work for the Manawatu Home Birth Association in the 90's she and I were involved in.
My deepest condolences to her family at this stressful time. She is now with her Lord and Saviour in a lovely place. Jeanette Ansell (formally Curtis).
