Phillip ROUND Obituary
Phillip Arthur (Phil):
Phil passed away at home on Saturday 10th September 2022, aged 62 years, after a long illness. Dearly beloved husband of Diane and devoted father and father-in-law of Chris, Kelly and Craig, and Jo and Jackson. Son of the late Clive and Naomi (Noni) Round. Stepson and special friend of Ian (Met) Metcalfe. Son-in-law of the late Con and Trudy Dekker. Step-son-in-law of Nancy Dekker. Brother and brother-in-law of Martyn and Rachel Round, Diane Round, Glen and Deb Round; Michael (dec) and Julia Dekker, Irene and David Buchan, Paul and Louise Dekker, Julie and Colin Reid, Kevin Dekker, and Robert and Narelle Dekker. Uncle and great-uncle to his many nieces and nephews in New Zealand and Australia. Our grateful thanks to all the wonderful people who have supported us in many ways during Phil's illness, including family, friends, neighbours, Phil's staff, St John Ambulance, Palmerston North Hospital staff, especially ED and Coronary Care Unit, and the staff of Arohanui Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations to St John Ambulance, PO Box 1794, Palmerston North 4440 or Arohanui Hospice, PO Box 5349, Palmerston North 4441, would be appreciated or may be left at the service. A service for Phil will be held at the Terracehaven Chapel, 697 Main Street, Palmerston North, on Friday 16th September 2022 at 9.30am. Phil was a lovely guy and a great builder. I´m blown away that he is no longer around. Sad day! My deepest condolences to his family.

Phil became such a good friend when our house was being built. Appearing with a very complicated ladder when we were hanging pictures in the front hall and stair well, floating the concrete for the pig pen with John bein 2 of the tasks that you don't expect!!!! I was also very moved by his support when John died. Diane, widowhood is an unexpectedly tricky journey. Love and thoughts to you all xoxoxoxo
