Peacefully in the presence of family on Tuesday 10 March 2026, aged 84. Deeply loved husband of Janet, and treasured Dad of Rebecca, Louise, and Maria. Loved Pop of Harry, James, Leah, Amos, and Heide. Loved brother of Helen, Dawn, Brian, and Val. According to Philip's wishes a private service has been held. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Messages to the McConkey Family, c/- William Cotton & Sons, 29 Beattie Street, Feilding 4702.

Such a nice man and such a wonderful heritage he has left for the Methodist Church in PN with the establishment of the Social Services. He was groundbreaking in a lot of new ideas in the Social Services. Anne Petersen

Such fond memories of Phil. He took me under his wing when I first started work as a cadet surveyor in 1962. I missed him when he went north to Rotorua to work a few years later, but I have never forgotten his kindness toward me. Rest in Peace Phil, you more than measured up.
