LAGRANGE - Verna L. Eichelberger, 87, of LaGrange, Indiana, died at Life Care Center of LaGrange, Indiana, on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
Mrs. Eichelberger was born on March 24, 1936, in Honey Creek, Indiana, to Bennett and Reva (Dillon) Fulp.
On Aug. 26, 1960, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, she married Carrol E. Eichelberger; he preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2020.
In 1974, she moved from Wilmette, Illinois, to LaGrange County, Indiana, where she had worked for many years as a registered nurse, at both LaGrange County Hospital in LaGrange, Indiana, and Dr. Egli's office in Topeka, Indiana.
She was a member at New Life Fellowship in Topeka, Indiana, and was avid cross stitcher.
Verna loved to be with her family, and is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Troy) Albert, of Lexington, Indiana, Vickie (Tony) Guyas, of Ligonier, Indiana, and Beth (Keith) Harp, of LaGrange, Indiana; her son, David (Melissa) Eichelberger, of LaGrange, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Amber (Charles) Parsons, Staci (J.T.) Ledet, Austin (Rachel) Albert, Jonathan (Lindsay) Guyas, Jack (Patty Andersen) Guyas, Daniel (Alexa Schrock) Guyas, Luke (Talulah Cross) Harp, Cole (Lindsay Dornte) Harp, Austin (Casey) Wilson, Nathan Eichelberger; 10 great-grandchildren, Addison Parsons, Levi and Parker Ledet, Charlotte, Emma, Ava, Violet Guyas, Maverick and Jaisyn Calvillo and Rixon Wilson; a sister, Ruth (Lynn) App, of Marblehead, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Paula Fulp, of Mooresville, Indiana.
She was preceded in death along with her husband, by her parents, Bennett and Reva Fulp; a granddaughter, Natalie Albert; a great-grandson, Ridge Wilson; and her brother, the Rev. Paul Fulp.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at noon, and continue until the service time at 2 p.m., at New Life Fellowship, 2755 S. S.R. 5, Topeka, Indiana.
Pastors Drew Ryall and Russ Hunsberger will officiate the service.
Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery in rural Topeka, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
