Paul LOCHEAD Obituary

Paul died suddenly on Friday 28th February 2025. Beloved husband of Christine and father of Raphael. Paul, we will really miss your love for us, your smiles and silly jokes, how you played so happily with our dogs, and everything you did and meant to us as a family. Paul was the loved brother of Mal, Heather, Carol and Anne, and brother-in-law of Maree, Julia, Eric and Wayne. We will deeply miss you, Paul. You are an irreplaceable and much-cherished member of our family. Paul, the beloved uncle of his nieces and nephews, was respected and appreciated for his kindness and generosity. Messages to Paul's family can be left via robertjcotton.co.nz/funerals-tributes. A military service celebrating Paul's life will be held at Linton Army Camp's Cultural Centre at 10.00am on Thursday 6th March 2025.

For a couple of years i went to the same school as Paul, and as is in life had a brief but passing bond. A number of years later we had a chance meeting in the bush of all places during a annual camp. I think Paul was TF at the time. Although we had not see or spoken to each other since school, he recognized me straight away and came over to say hello.
This is how i will remember him, honest and down to earth, with time to say g'day. Though we did not keep in touch since that chance meeting, it was still a shock to hear of his passing.
Rest in peace Paul and my deepest condolences to his family.

I only knew Paul for a short time. We lived across the ditch from each other, but worked together on the other side of the world. Two different Defence Forces, working toward a common goal with common values.

My thoughts and heart go to his family in this time. He was a good man with a good heart.
