Condolences to Owen's family. Like others that are sharing condolences and memories here, I worked with Owen in the early 80s at the Chief Postmaster's Office. Owen was always full of beans, and always had a smile on his face. It was a pleasure working with him.

Sincere condolences to Owen's family. I knew Owen through Post Office & Telecom, as I worked for the Engineering workshops and also when he was doing document destruction in Pirani Place. He was a great bloke, who was very easy to get along with. He will be sadly missed.

Sorry to learn of Owen´s passing and sincere condolences to the family.I had the pleasure to work with Owen in the Chief Post Office Palmerston North in the 1970s onwards.A great organiser who ran the rugby and Melbourne cup sweep stakes ,Christmas turkey sales which were just a few of the side lines he was able to fit into his active time in the office.
Funny how you remember people ,Owen The first to wear shorts to work after Labour Day and also those knee length socks with an assortment of pens protruding out of the top .
Happy memories,
Russ Pedley
