Miss Olsen was my Primer 1 teacher at Roslyn School nearly fifty five years ago. I still have very fond memories of her and her sister Lorna, who was the local librarian when I was growing up. When I came back into the sphere of the "Miss Olsons" in my twenties it was due to our mutual interest in plants. Noeleen, though she was always Miss Olson to me,'s knowledge of all the plants she had grown and nurtured over the years amazed me. What amazed me even more was her knowledge of all the children she had grown and nurtured as a teacher. She could bring to mind classmates I had forgotten, and some incidents that would have been better forgotten as well :-). Not only that, she knew what many of us had done over the years and was proud for all of us.

Miss Olson - I was your tenant for 5 years in your rental house right next door to you - we often shared gardening tips while walking around your back yard - we shared stories upstairs in the sun
