Inez Swain Obituary

My condolences to the family, I am Ruth Umbach's daughter and she was an aunt to Cleland Swain.

I see Auntie Inez in my mind's eye, smiling, eyes twinkling, excitement bubbling over as she surprised my mother, Neva Batt, at her 75th birthday party. Then I see her singing "Over the Rainbow" with Maureen Batt, her great niece. Her memory reminds me to enjoy the day in front of us. Auntie Inez sure did.

This beloved lady was my husband's gramma, but to anyone who knew her, there was no such thing as in laws. When you were accepted into her family (which was immediate), you were her grandchild, and would be the rest of your life. She was an amazing woman, who I will always be grateful to have gotten to know over the past 12 1/2 years. She taught all of us what truly unconditional love was, and I was one of the MANY who received that from her. My children have been blessed to know and love her, and I hope they remember her for the rest of their lives. Gramma, you will be so MISSED, but our love for you will NEVER end.
