Nick and I had many long conversations when we would run into each other at the Supermarket in Levin. He held my attention with his humour and intelligence and it seems he had the same effect on others too. His life was a gift to us all.

I knew Nick through Toastmasters and it was an absolute pleasure. I can't recall a time when I saw him and he wasn't smiling, contributing to the lives of others or sharing a kind word. I enjoyed his Christmas updates from the family. Rest well, my friend, and thank you.

Farewell Nick - you did great work when at Aoraki Polytechnic in the late 90s-early 2000s teaching networking, hardware and communications, in a way that made things understandable. Also you bent over backwards to assist those who were willing to learn - countless students over many years would have had you to thank for giving links and a start in the IT industry.

Our paths kept crossing over the years - a great experience was the filming of interviews for your Massey degree - and you were always supportive and encouraging.

You will be much missed.

So sorry to hear of Nicks passing, our condolsences to you all. I first met Nick when we worked together in the Computer Operations section of the Ministry of Defence Computer Centre in Porirua in 1984. Nick was in the Air Force at that time. We meet again when we both worked at Databank/EDS in the 90's. While it has been a few years since we last meet, we had kept in touch over the years. He will be sadly missed.

Hello Liz and your family. I'm saddened by your news. I met Nick through Toastmasters and have fond memories of spending time with him pre-Covid days. He often called at our place for a coffee and chat. We travelled to Toastmasters meetings at Massey and Wanganui. Nick was a member of several TM Clubs over the years and was President of most of them at one time. Thanks for some great memories Nick. You won't be forgotten.

My deepest condolences to the family on this sad news. I first met Nick when he lectured me at Aoraki Polytech. In the beginning I'm not sure if either of us could quite work the other out but when Nick found out about my "cricket roles" we were off and had many great conversations over the following two and a half decades, even more recently when he was having his health issues. I built a website for him and had numerous discussions about 'post retirement' money making options, but more often than not our conversations fell back to cricket.

Nick was very proud of his family and I'm sure will be missed by you all but it i9s heartening to know that he will be at rest in a place he believed in.

Give Nick a hearty send off.

Nick will be sadly missed. We always had some great discussions about cricket, church and our shared Christian faith. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven when my turn comes to leave.

Many knew him as a team mate, teacher or a brother in faith, my sister and I had the great privilege of having him as our Dad.

Our Dad brought music into our house, playing guitar and singing and sharing his record collection with us. Music followed us on many long family roadtrips, and he treasured sharing special places around the country that he had been taken to on family trips with his parents and sister, or had explored on various adventures he took as a young man. As children he would carry us to bed and tuck us in when we fell asleep somewhere, and as we grew older he would be the first person we'd seek out in a crisis, because he would solve what he could and soothe and comfort what he couldn't.

Dad loved his cricket, hockey and of course his many, many pets, but above all he loved to teach. He always had time for anyone who wanted to learn and was immensely proud to witness them achieve the heights he knew they were capable of.

You were so loved Dad, and will be so, so missed.
