Offering sincere sympathy to all family members. I enjoyed spending a few years at school with Nelson in Feilding in the 1950´s and have warm memories of his "hard case" character and great sense of humour. David Major (Melbourne)

On behalf of the FAHS Sixth Form Class of 1956, it is with great sadness we learn of Nelson´s passing. Our condolences go to Stella and family.
Over the past 68 years our Class Members have kept in regular contact and over the years enjoyed several reunions together. Nelson was in regular contact and apart from attending Class reunions, participated in our last Zoom meeting.
A number of our Class members knew Nelson from Primary School days where he was a valued member of the 1st XV but in subsequent years, he established himself as a top Badminton player and administrator.
Personally, I have experienced Nelson´s friendship since Primary School days, however our experience in living and working together on a dairy farm during school holidays would take more space than would be appropriate here. Needless to say, some of the experiences are/were not to be shared!

Condolences to Stella & family. I am great memories of working with Nelson, especially
Building a house near Taupo. A skillful person, with a great outlook on life, nothing was too much trouble. His love of his family was a fine example. Rest In Peace
My friend.

To the Allerby Family

We are sorry to hear of the passing of a wonderful man. Our condolences and thoughts are with you all during this sad time.
My fondest memory of Nelson was rocking up to badminton on a Wednesday to help him with coaching. As I walked through the doors he would yell out or should i say sing out Angie Baby and do a little dance lol.

Rest in Peace Nelson ( Nelli )

Sorry I can't be at Nelson's farewell. I only remember him as someone who was selfless, generous and enjoyed a good yarn. What a huge impact he has had on the Badminton scene over decades in every domain of the game. Best wishes to you all at this sad time.

Condolences and thoughts with the family. I
remember many years of playing badminton with
Nelson in Feilding in the draughty cold stadium.
He was a skillful and an amazing player.
