Myrtle "Myrt" passed away peacefully March 28, 2025 in the Victoria Hospital, Prince Albert, SK just three months after her 95th birthday.
Myrt is survived by her children Larry (Paula), Sherry (Blair) Wotherspoon, Byradley (Márcia) Yyelland, and Gregory (Bernadette); grandchildren: Brady Balicki (Chantelle), Krista Cochrane (Jeff), and Jordy Balicki; Brodie, Christopher, and Eli Yyelland; Chantel Halvorsen (Ryan), Tannara, Megan Yelland-Staff (Brody), and Anja Yelland; great grandchildren: Liev, Isla and Adley Halvorsen; Nathan and Colton Cochrane; Otis and Frances Balicki; Damien Yelland-Staff; and brother-in-law Morris (Dalelene) Yelland.
Myrt was predeceased by her parents Fred and Mabel Harstad, and special uncle Leonard Holter; her husband Ray, brother Walter Harstad, and step-brother Gordon Stokke, whom to her delight found her later in life.
Myrt was a gentle soul, a charming and friendly lady with a smile for everyone. She was a warm and loving mother and the epitome of unconditional love. She loved visiting with family and friends over coffee and sweets, especially Mars bars, and in her quiet time she loved reading, crocheting, knitting, sewing, gardening and watching the wildlife walk through her yard in Green Acres.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Gray's Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations in memory of Myrtle may be made to the New Hope Community Church, 1840 15th Street West, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 3T7 or to a
charity of the donor's choice.
