You were the best neighbour ever Murray, loved your sense of humour and your enormous sense of fun. We missed you when you and Mary headed down that long drive to begin your new life in Auckland. Condolences to you Mary at this very sad time. RIP Murray. Lou and Gary Rawlinson.

I have known Murray since I started in the seed testing world in Palmerston North 40yrs ago.
He was a wealth of knowledge always delivered with wit and humor. I learned a great deal from him. He was a great boss at Lincoln and I will always think fondly of him.

My dear friend of 50+ years. I cannot believe I will not see you or hear your voice again. Your love of everything botanical, agricultural, & scientific led me to a career in all the above. I became a science nut, the first day at Seed Testing in 1970.
You and yours have been part of our lives over the years, we will miss you greatly. We will cherish our memories of you for ever.
Love from Terry, Liz, Kate & Bryan Crowson

When I think of Murray, I always break out into a smile. Often, he brought humour to the lectures and the laboratory. He was one of the principle reasons, I chose to conduct further study in Seed Science. I miss his Friday afternoons in the lab (wine, cheese and good company). I am sure he will be missed by a great many. His legacy has had a big impact on many local and international students (myself included). May he sleep the deep sleep. Conrad

To our dear friend and colleague Muz, you will be missed so much. Hard to believe we won't ever hear your cheeky pranks and bad jokes again. You were a one off Muz and we loved you a lot.
Love John and Claire Hampton and on behalf of your hundreds of former students from all around the world.
