My condolences to the family. If it wasn´t for Mick way back in 1983 we would never have been able to buy our first home. He made it possible by going the extra mile and we have never forgotten.

Our Dad, Neville Hancock, worked for Mick in the 1960´s as an adult electrical apprentice - he always spoke of him with admiration and affection, so while we didn´t know Mick personally - we felt as though we did. When Dad passed away in 2015, this very dapper man turned up at his funeral and it was Mick! It was lovely and moving to meet him, someone we had heard so much about, someone our dad thought so highly of.
To all his family our condolences, we were sad to hear of his passing.

Our condolences to the wider Tunnicliffe family.
My memories range from buying records from his shop, to Insurance Agent and motivational leader, Landlord, Property Developer, valuation and real estate client of mine, the Hero who made the covered pool at the Makino Aquatic Centre happen - he was hard to say no to! Kind person who helped people without any fanfare, Swimmer, loyal Feilding Resident and Businessman, and always with a flash of a smile and a sparkle in his eye. What a Legend. Our community has benefitted greatly from the life of Mick Tunnicliffe. Cherish the memories.
Kind wishes,
Joan & Michael Ford

Many years ago when my marriage ended and I needed a place to stay (with 3 small children) .. someone suggested I ring "Mick Tunnicliffe". I gave him a call and arranged to meet with him at a property up Glasgow Terrace.
I was pretty upset when I arrived at the property. He showed me through the house and was so kind to this young Mum he had never met.
The house was lovely but I quickly realised that with 2 preschool boys and a baby .. the stairs to the second floor were probably not a great idea.
Mr Tunnicliffe was so kind. He gave me a phone number of a friend who also had a rental property (of which we went on to rent for nearly 8 years).
He helped me put 2 energetic little boys into my car and told me "everything WILL be ok .. life won't ALWAYS be this hard".
Then .. this man who had never met me .. took a $50 note out of his pocket and pressed it in my hand.
I can't remember what I spent that $50 note on .. but I have always remembered how his kindness made me feel.
In the 25 plus years since that day I have told many people "life won't ALWAYS be this hard" and every time I have said it I remember that day in Glasgow Terrace and "Mick Tunnicliffe".
I was so sad to hear of his passing and will be thinking of Mr Tunnicliffe and his family in the days ahead.

Mick has been a friendly acquaintance since I met him in 1976 when he was selling insurance.
Although he never sold me a policy we always treated each other like best friends.
Out of the blue about 3 years ago he surprised
my wife and I with an unexpected visit which made our friendship seem even more special.
To all his family we are so sorry to here of Micks passing.

I first met Mick in 1961 when he was running his electrical business in Feilding, I worked for him part time in 1963 & 1964 repairing washing machines. He was and is one of the most remarkable men I have ever met and will always treasure the advice he willingly gave me during the last 63 years. Certainly a life well lived. Rest In Peace old friend
