Mervyn SMITH Obituary

SMITH,
Mervyn Douglas (Merv):
Served in the New Zealand Fire Service for 33 years (permanent and volunteer) including as Chief Fire Officer (Himatangi Beach 1966-99) and Station Officer (Palmerston North 1972-96). Passed away peacefully on Sunday 19 December 2021, aged 78 years. Dearly loved husband of Maureen for 58 special years. Much loved Dad of Douglas and Rachel, Greg, and the late Craig. Cherished Grandad of Alice, Micheal, Candice, Torrie-Ann, and Alex; special Grandad of his seven great-grandchildren. Loved brother of Annette and brother-in-law of Brian and Maree. Messages can be left for Merv's family via www.beauchamp.co.nz/tributes. In accordance with Merv's wishes, a private family service will be held.
