Maxwell CRESSWELL Obituary

We are sad to announce the death of Max on Sunday, 22 September 2024, at the age of 84. He leaves behind his wife Adriane Rini, a son Jeremy Cresswell and stepdaughter Miriam Meyerhoff. Max was predeceased by his younger brothers Roger and Lyell. Max died peacefully at the Arohanui Hospice in Palmerston North. A funeral will be held for him at the Wellington South Salvation Army on the corner of Riddiford and Normanby Streets, Newtown, 11.00am Monday, 30 September.

For Adrienne - I am very sorry that I only heard about Max tonight and that I was not present at his funeral at the Wellington South Salvation Army yesterday. He was a major influence on myself and other young Salvationists in the 1960s as we tried to navigate our way between our narrow upbringing and the more liberal university life. And he had this wonderful sense of humour as shown in those revues of the 1960s.
