Matt left this world that he loved so much on Saturday 10th September 2022 in the loving arms of his family after the most courageous battle. He was truly special to each one of us bringing a cheeky smile, humour, enthusiasm, huge character, comradery, generosity, kindness, passion, love, and adventurous spirit to every moment of his life and ours. We are so proud of the man you were and all you accomplished as a son, Dad, husband, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He will be dearly missed by us all and has left a huge gap in our lives forever. Cherished and loved son always of Nick and Jane. Most awesome, brave, and strong big brother to Briar and Johnny and brother-in-law to Scott. Wonderful husband to Caylee and the best father to Harrison and Ben. Famous and funny Uncle Matt Matt to Daisy, Bindi and Beau. Adored grandson of Grandma Shona, Grandad David (dec.), Grandma Apples (Janice), Pop (Peter) and treasured nephew of Lisa, Steve, and the extended family. Our heartfelt gratitude to Arohanui Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Matt and us all. A celebration of Matt's life is to be held at the special location of Eastwoodhill Arboretum, Gisborne, at 2.00pm, on Saturday 17th September 2022.
