Martine VAN HOVE Obituary

Born Uccle, Belgium, 27 April 1944, passed away unexpectedly at Palmerston North Hospital on Thursday 7 September 2023. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Bennet and Barbara, bonne-maman to Petra and Tycho. Sister and sister-in-law of Pierre and Françoise (dec), Anita and Bernard (dec), Charles and Aline, François and Donatienne (dec), Edith and Michel (dec). Loved aunt to her nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend a service for Martine at the Beauchamp Crematorium Chapel, 167 John F Kennedy Drive, Palmerston North, on Wednesday 20 September 2023 at 2.00pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to World Horse Welfare https://int.worldhorsewelfare.org/donations would be appreciated.

Was a pleasure knowing you Martine from the non-English speaking young colleague that worked for me when you arrived in 1965 at DSIR until the last time I saw you several years ago. Lost touch unfortunately for a while in between which I now regret but I have very fond memories of you. RIP

We have many happy memories of times at Scott´s road with the horses and dogs, going back to the early 70s, when maya was part of our family for a few months.

You made the 70's in Palmy, and latterly, bit more bearable, sumone diff, diff culture n mindset, had an inate sense of justice n fairness for the living ,big and small...Wild horses on Desert Road,1080 fiasco.
