Lynn Chouinard Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lynn D. Chouinard.
He was predeceased by his wife Cheryl L. Chouinard. He is the loving father and grandfather of David and Shannon (Gabriel, Angeline, Samantha), Michelle, James and Dawna (Haileigh and Logan), Jennifer and Joel Mundy
(Oren and Brynn), as well as his great grandchildren Ava and Kyler. Lynn worked passionately with Merrill Lynch, continuing with CIBC Wood Gundy for forty-five years. He was known nation wide for his success in the investment industry. He mentored and backed numerous entrepreneurs in business startups and turn-arounds. He will be missed by the thoroughbred industry as a visionary leader for horse racing in Alberta. Together with an excellent team, he raised up Bar None Ranches in the early 80's. The Ranch continues today as the premiere thoroughbred breeding and training facility in Western Canada, operating in conjunction with a significant farming operation; one of Lynn's other great passions. He was blessed to spend his last years doing what he loved most, enjoying his little piece of heaven on this earth. He would spend mornings at mass in his beloved family chapel and working in his office. In the afternoons he checked on the young horses and watched the extensive gardens grow. The evenings were often enjoyed with family and friends watching and cheering his horses at the track. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church
(338 Ave and 32 Street East, Okotoks, AB) on Saturday December 16, 2017 at 9:30am.
Interment will be a private family event. Donations in memory of Lynn may be made to Charitable Foundation of the Family (130, 4019-8th St SE Calgary,

Am very blessed to be able to have called Lynn my friend. He is in Gods hands now with Cheryl, at peace, resting. He was the kindest, most respected, generous, caring man. He had a profound affect on how I dealt with my own journey with my health. There should be more people on earth like him, it would be a much better place. My deepest condolences to you all. If I can do anything, please let me know. xxoox

Lynn was an inspirational man who I knew , firstly as my investment advisor for many years in Calgary and secondly as a true friend.
Ann and I owe much to Lynn's astute investment direction and I have many happy memories of fishing trips with Lynn.
We send our prayers to the family -it is hard to lose such a loving father. You should be proud of his many accomplishments and most particularly the scores of people who viewed Lynn as their friend.
Well done, my friend -rest in peace and God hold him close !

Michelle, David, Jamie and Jenn, our heartfelt prayers and condolences to each of you and the entire Chouinard family. In sharing Lynn's little piece of heaven with us, the little Chapel is indeed a little piece of Lynn's heart we are so blessed and privileged to have witnessed and been a part of. Your father was instrumental in God's plan in such a special way, with our hearts and lives being touched through this blessed gift, this peaceful special place, through Lynn's generosity in sharing the little Chapel with us and others. Our spiritual journeys and lives have been beautifully and profoundly enriched as a result and it is a gift beyond all worldly value... one we will be forever grateful. Your Dad's strength, tenacious approach and show of kind generosity in life, is an inspiration to us all. May The Lord comfort each of you and bless you in the knowledge of his promise to each of us.
Rest in God's peace Lynn, you are and will be deeply missed.
