Georgia Ross Obituary

Georgia May Ross, 92, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. She was born on December 22, 1931, in Long Lane, MO, the daughter of Bert Ray and Mable Ruth (Betty) Williams, who preceded her in death.

On May 30, 1998, in La Monte, MO, Georgia was united in marriage to LeRoy J. Ross, who preceded her in death on November 5, 2016

Georgia was the housekeeping manager for the Ramada Inn in Sedalia for several years. She was a dedicated Assembly of God Church member and later attended Maplewood Church. Georgia enjoyed going to rummage sales, shopping, doing word search games, and decorating her home.

Georgia is survived by three children, Stephen Jasper of Humbolt, NE, Mark Jasper and his wife Belynda of Cole Camp; a daughter, Sandy McInteer and her husband Mike of Houston, TX; a sister, Thelma Doutthit of Davenport, IA; three brothers, Herbert Williams (Ruth) of Camp Bellville, KY, Junior Williams of Buffalo, MO, and Jackie Williams (Letha) of La Monte, MO; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Jasper of Boonville, MO; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Georgia is preceded in death by a son, J.R. Jasper; a daughter, Vivian Lang; and four sisters, Cecile Routt, Chloree Garrison, Mary Jasper, and Frances Swagart.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Rea Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Eddie Brown officiating.

The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.

The burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to Life Pointe Church, Sedalia, in the care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
