Lolita Crawford Obituary

Lolita "Lad' Crawford, 80, of Lemont Furnace, died Friday morning, Dec. 14, 2001, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born June 15, 1921, in Uniontown. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Raymond E. Crawford; four children, Laural M. Fait and husband, David, of Youngwood, Paul Crawford of Uniontown, Philip K. Crawford and wife, PattiJo, of Lemont Furnace and Lisa J. Cupp and husband, Edward A., of Hopwood; four grandchildren, Edward A. Cupp II, Ashley E. Crawford, Hallie Taj Cupp and Mallory G. Crawford; two stepgrandchildren, Scott Fait and Laura Mitchell; and a brother, Francis Schnatterly and wife, Martha, of Lemont Furnace. Lad was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Lemont Furnace. During World War II, she was employed with the British Ministry of Supply, then the Army Air Corps, stationed at Tyndall Field in Panama City, Fla. She had been employed with the North Union Tax Office and also spent 22 years in the Office of Clerk of Courts as first deputy. She was past matron of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #178 and was also a member of Uniontown Chapter O.E.S. #263. She was also a member of the Uniontown White Shrine and served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of AMVETS Post #103, Hopwood. Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Jeffrey Popson officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
