Linda Lain Obituary

Linda G. Lain, 79 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away December 21, 2025 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born April 3, 1946 in Glasgow, Kentucky. She is the daughter of Leo and Carrie (Hancock) Cowan. Linda married Robert Jackson Lain on December 27, 1969 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2020.

Linda is survived by her son, Troy D. Lain of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters, Lujuana (Don) Michael of Lexington, Alabama, Kim (Jack) Hobdy of Lexington, Alabama, Cindy (Scott) Holland of Edinburgh, Indiana; guardian of grandchildren, Mikala (Paul Parmer) Lain of Edinburgh, Indiana and Mikhai (Faith) Lain of Lexington, Alabama; sisters, Jewel (Jack) Langford of Greenwood, Indiana and Faye Cowan of Greenwood, Indiana, 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Robert Jackson Lain Jr.; daughters, Lynnette Michele Lain and Loretta M. Lain; great-grandsons, Eli and Noah Michael; brother, Marshall Cowan and sisters, Pauline Richardson and Frances “Tincy” Sloan.

Linda’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
