Linda was one of my few real friends at Lakeshore High School. Our common tie was music; we were part of the brief group called "the Junior Girls" only because we were all juniors when be sang together. Pretty much a folk music sound; we all graduated in 1970. Other members of our small group besides me and Janca were the "other Linda" G, Barb W. These were my best memories of high school. After graduation we went different ways and very rarely were in touch.
But!! Linda and her husband visited me and my husband (Scott Risch) when we lived in Monterey, CA while Scott attended the Naval Postgraduate School. I hardly remember anything about the visit except that Linda and Dave came to our door barefoot.
I loved the handmade Christmas greetings Linda sent most years. Small little drawings of every significant event of their year--like a batch of wine, fiddling at some festival, the character she played on stage....etc. Always making memories.

I did not know Linda well, but we shared several friends and belonged to the same music organizations. I was always inpressed with her unique personality, friendliness, cheerfulness, and joie de vivre. She certainly made the most of her life and I know that such an interesting person will be greatly missed.

More than 50 years later, I still remember the house in Baroda, next to that open field and recounting stories I've told friends and family about the Christmas tree in the living room in your house with the real candles on it. Nobody believes that when I tell them about that. I'm so sorry all the Jancas are gone. I only last year learned of Bobby's passing, and Bob and Ginny within months of each other. But whenever I think of Baroda, Michigan, I think of the Jancas. I'm so sorry for your loss David.

Dave and Dana: So sorry for your loss. Linda was one in a million. Linda was the kid sister of my best friend, Bobby. When Linda was busy taking care of her parents' and Bobby's estate, she and I really bonded. Was looking forward to seeing Linda when she came up to Frankenmuth MI for the "Linda Reunion" in July. As I write this note, Linda is probably auditioning for her next role in Heaven. How happy must Jinny, Bob, Susie, and Bobby be now that they are all in heaven together.
Rest in Peace dear, sweet lady. You will be missed,

Growing up in Baroda near the Janca household was such a treasure. Always into something, what a talented and imaginative girl! Sorry I had not seen you in a while.

I went to Lakeshore High School in Stevensville, Michigan with Linda. If there was a play, Linda was in it and always made her role special. She was a fellow trumpet player in the HS band. If there was mischief going on Linda was probably involved!! She had a personality you just couldn“t help like. Linda worked some summers at a local fine dining restaurant and always helped make the "back hallway" a fun place to be. I can certainly understand the love her nieces and nephews had for her. What an especially fun Aunt she would be. Condolences to all. Suzi

I had the pleasure of performing with Linda at Amelia Musical Playhouse. She was a lovely lady and so full of life. We were in a review called Hee Haw Y'all. She was Minnie Pearl and I was Lulu. I will always remember her as Miss Minnie. Kind and laughing.
