Brian CALEY Obituary

Brian passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, at the Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, on Monday, November 21, 2022. Born on November 18, 1947, in Lindsay, Brian Ross Caley, of Owen Sound, was in his 76th year. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Brenda Caley (née Townsend) for 50 years. Loving father of Troy Caley (Natalee), of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and Ryan Caley (Janet), of London, Ontario. Proud grandfather of Nate, Ally, Reagan, Aiden, Seth, and Reid. Cherished son of Ruth Caley and the late Royce Caley. Dear brother of Glenn Caley and Larry Caley, both of Peterborough, and brother-in-law of Lesley Kivell (Brian) and Paul Townsend (Susanna). Loving uncle of Trevor (Pam), Tracy (Lance), Colin (Jennifer), Erin (Jeff), Garret (Steph), Riley (Jake), and Brock (Kait). Predeceased by his birth father Ross Nicholls and his brother Allan Caley. Brian played for many hockey teams throughout his life - the Peterborough Petes (goal), the East Coast Hockey League in New Jersey, the Owen Sound Greys Senior 'A' Team, and the Durham Huskies, and won the Senior Championship. He also played lacrosse for the Owen Sound North Stars. Brian was also an avid golfer and baseball player. He loved sports and umpired the Owen Sound Slow Pitch League. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Aboo and the Oncology Department and also the caring nurses and doctors on 6-1 of the G.B.H.S. There will not be any service at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Chapman House Hospice or the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
