CHATFIELD, Leslie Thomas:
Formerly of Waione. Gently passed away at Grace Joel Rest Home, Auckland on Saturday 3 April 2021. Loving husband of the late Yvonne Chatfield, loved father of Fay, Evan, Athol, Dean (deceased) Brett and their families. Much loved grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Loved son of the late Finlay and Bessie Chatfield.
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day."
Les is now resting at his home in Dannevirke, if you wish to pay your respects before the funeral. Family and friends are invited to a service of celebration which will be held in St John the Baptist Anglican Church, High Street, Dannevirke on Friday 9 April at 1.00pm, followed by interment at the Mangatera Lawn Cemetery. Messages to the family c/- 51 Denmark Street, Dannevirke 4930.

I'll remember Chatty and Yvonne always as that loving couple who popped in to visit auntie Mavis and uncle Harold in Masterton, and the blessing Chatty gave my marriage at the RSA in Masterton 30 years ago, sympathies to the family, sadness now but happy memories forever

So sorry to read that my old mate form Boarding School days had passed away. We had not seen each other since 2003 when attending the 100th reunion of Dannevirke High School. We were the best of mates from our boarding at McDonald House,Dannevirke High School.
After leaving Dannevirke we went in different directions.
