Kevin SAXTON Obituary

1949 – 2025

Kevin Saxton passed away peacefully at the age of 75 at Woodfall Lodge in Feilding, after a six-month battle following a stroke. He faced it all with quiet courage and a good dose of humour, true to form. A much-loved father, grandfather, cousin and friend, Kevin was a passionate artist whose creative spirit, warmth, and generous nature touched everyone who knew him. Cheeky and determined, he weathered more than his fair share of medical hurdles, always with grit and good humour. He had an early love of rugby, a lifelong love of horses, and a deep affection for people, many of whom ended up as subjects in his paintings. Throughout his life, Kevin was surrounded by wonderful friends. He was always ready with a phone call, a coffee, a story, and a grin in return. Our heartfelt thanks go to the incredible team at Woodfall Lodge, whose compassion and attentive care brought great comfort to Kevin and our family. A memorial to celebrate Kevin's life will be held at a later date. Everyone who knew him will be welcome. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Feilding Art Society.

I was so sad to read of Kevin´s passing. Kevin was a kind and compassionate man. He always had time for people and especially people in need. He was funny, could tell a great story and was a fantastic artist. We will miss him.

Kevin was part of my boyhood at Hastings. We were first cousins. He always was the one to enjoy life as much as possible.
Congratulations to the person who wrote that Obituary for Kevin, as it well describes that wonderful cousin of mine.

Such a lovely Man, a natural entertainer and incredible artist. It was so nice to have seen Kev still at his home in September. I'm sure my Dad and him are having a great catch up.
