Kenneth SIMONSEN Obituary

Passed away at home on Sunday, 8 February 2026, aged 71 years. Loved partner of Karen. Cherished Dad to Andria, Tressa, Hannah, and Raquel. Dearly loved brother of Edie and Murray, and uncle of Eric. A much loved Grandad to 10 and Great-Grandad to two. Dearly missed by his best mate Gunner. Messages for Simo's family can be left via robertjcotton.co.nz/funerals. Special thanks to the staff of Arohanui Hospice for their dedication and care. A celebration of Simo's life will be held in the Cotton's Chapel, 697 Main Street, Palmerston North, on Friday, 13 February 2026, at 10.00am, followed by private cremation.

Simo this will be the last time that we send each other a Red rose until we meet again my friend it has been over 30 years since we sent the first one, that night we went to the Empire we became friends forever. I think off you often see your Daughter and grandchilren reminds me off you Rest in peace until we meet again hope my boy is there to meet you. Sorry to read about Ken's passing.
He was a true legend when he played for the United Cricket Club in the 1980's.
A real "hard case "character and a friend to all he played with, and who had a few beers with him at the end of the day's play.
