Sophie Wood Obituary

WOOD (nee: Chornobrywy), Sophie To everything there is a season. On April 8th, 2010 the seasons for Sophie, widow of Ernest Wood, ended with her death twenty-two days before her 94th birthday. She was predeceased by her parents, Onofrie and Katherine; her brothers, Harry, Fred and Peter; her sisters, Vera Paskowski, Lena Winarski, Mary Sagan and Stephanie Oxby. With many happy memories of her long life, Sophie leaves her sisters, Anne Karpluk of Edmonton, AB, Olga (Mervyn) Mumby of Langley, BC; her sister-in-law, Adah Arial of Nanaimo, BC; her nephew, Philip (Adele); her niece, Kathleen (William) of Edmonton and many relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of the Long Term Care Unit at the Shepherd's Care Kensington Wellness Centre, where Sophie has made her home for the past twenty-seven months, for their care and support. The family extends special thanks to the angels of 67th Street - Pat and Lil, to Doreen, Marie and Tess and to those who have provided so much love and support to Sophie over the past decade. Reverend Frank Stempfle will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial for Sophie on Monday, April 12th, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 11811 - 96th Street, Edmonton, AB.
