Of Palmerston North, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family. Beloved husband of the late Jan. Much loved father and father-in-law of Dianne and David Elgar, Michael (deceased) and Christine, Gregory and Claire, Graeme and Esther. Proud Grandad of Amy, Christopher, Angus, Jack, Sylvia, Alice, James, and Katherine; treasured Great-Grandad of Audrey, and Arthur. Beloved son of the late Arthur and Gladys; dearly loved brother of Ann and the late Arthur, Hugh, and Joan; a dearly missed uncle, cousin and friend who gave so much kindness, strength and unwavering love to those around him. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Palmerston North Hospital Wards 24 and 27, Arohanui Hospice, District Nursing and Lavender Blue for their compassion and support. A private cremation has taken place, and a memorial celebration of John's life will be held in the Cotton's Chapel, 697 Main Street, Palmerston North, on Saturday, 21 June 2025, at 11.00am.
