John, you have left us with so many memories, a grafter, always enjoyed the big hits on the track. Willing to take anyone on who was willing to try and even when you were put on your side it didn't stop you. You were a Scrapper that never gave into the opposition that easy. Rest easy mate. From Brian Harris a loyal Scrapper friend and follower.

Well what can you say to the 30+ years of friendship that I've had with you John? From being a pit crew member and living with you and your family at Ngaere though to the last conversation we had, you've always had that humour and advice that all of us know and love. I've got so many memories, including you stitching me up on my stag night. I have never been so sick afterwards and you laughing about it on my wedding day as my groomsman. You will be so missed in so many ways since you decided to stop blocking and take that flying lap to the checkered flag.
I know you'll be looking down on us all with a drink in one hand, your foot hard on the gas pedal, cranking out another story to those around you with tears running down their face in laughter, like we did so many times over the years. See you on the track at bit later John. Like you said to me it's never goodbye.
Thinking of you Jonny, Chris, and Claire at this time.
