Thinking of you all as you say goodbye to "Mr Jacques" as I knew him; a funny and kind character, held in very high regard by my parents; so skilled with the French polishing and did so much for his community especially with the athletics.

Condolences to the Jacques family. Sad to read of Johns passing. To think it was around 55 years ago a few of us set up the Ashhurst Athletics and later Harriers club. Many great events attended. RIP John

To Mike, Debbie and families our condolences to you all at the loss of John. He was Ashhurst Athletics, almost single-handedly running and driving the club at weekly summer meets. He nurtured some very talented Ashhurst youngsters, including our family, many who went on to perform well with credit in other local and national meetings. He were a true gentleman, who was very proud of his family´s achievements, and always remembering those athletes he worked with, even years after finishing running. RIP John.

A private funeral will be held for Dad but Mike and Debbie would love to extend a warm welcome to friends of John to join with us at the Ashhurst RSA on Saturday June 15th at 11.00am to celebrate his life and share memories .
