John GREALLY Obituary
Died peacefully surrounded by family on 19 March 2022, aged 83 after a long illness. John was the son of the late Thomas and Jane Greally and brother to Tom, Fr Pat Greally (late), Winifred Whitman (late) and Mary Friel. He was a dearly loved and cherished husband to Elizabeth (Buff) for over 50 years and father of Steve, Fi, Rachel (late), Monica, Tim and Chas. He was a much loved father-in-law to Erin, Bevan, Michael and Belinda. He was also loved by his grand-children Charlotte, Ella, Lily, Max, Josh, Ben, Nikoli, Lara, Alexis and Elise as well as his five great grand-children. A service will be held at 11.00am on Thursday 24 March at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 96 Shamrock Street, Takaro, Palmerston North. So sorry we couldn't get there today Buffy, but we did see it all on live stream. It was such a lovely service and Steve spoke so well. John was such a generous person and so rooted in family and the care for others as Steve said. And he had so many gifts of the Irish, particularly his ability to tell all sorts of stories including jokes. He will be sadly missed.
It was especially sad for us to miss the chance to catch up with your children and to meet some of your grandchildren. We are very much looking forward to seeing you next week.
